Does a career in pharmacy interest you? Why or why not?

Question:
Do you think a pharmacist's job is boring? I mean, just sitting/standing there all day and dispensing pills only...

Answers:
It's good money, requiring an MD in Pharmacology, and, on Long Island, starting salaries can be 72k easily, plus full benefits. Though the memorization is KEY, you need to know what does what, what interacts with what, all the brand names of the same chemicals, and whats new and exciting in the drug market.

If you're good with memorization, have a knack for chemistry and biology, and can take the time for an MD without wanting to do all the bloody gory stuff, then it's a good option

Other Answers:
yes it does. for one the money is fantastic. and just imagine the stories and questions people have for the pharmacist. I'm sure it can get pretty interesting.
Pharmacists do more than count pills. They talk with physicians, nurses, customers and many more people about medicine. You would have great job security and have a good income. If you work in a hospital, it would probably be a little more exciting tha a drug store.
The job is not boring because it involves so much more than that. What about drug interactions, compounding, formulating medications and administering TPN? That doesn't address the issue of counselling patients and giving advice about dosages of OTC meds. There are so many possibilities within the scope of practice that if you find the right spot, you won't be bored.
