A chemical called sulforaphane which prevents cancer formation is found in broccoli that can help DNA repair and fight cancer. The types of cancer it is effective against are: lung (with isothiocyanate) , bladder, breast (with indole-3-carbinol) and prostate cancers. Apparently a strain of "super broccoli" is being developed.
"Sulforaphane is an anticancer compound found in broccoli. In the plant, it is present in bound form as glucoraphanin, a glucosinolate. Sulforaphane is formed from glucoraphanin on plant cell damage (by boiling or consumption) via an enzymatic reaction.
The anticancer activity of sulforaphane lies in the induction of phase-II enzymes of xenobiotic transformation (such as quinone reductase and glutathione S-transferase."
"Studies have shown as little as 150 grams of broccoli a day could have a significant effect on a person's risk of contracting cancer. Researchers found that men who ate two or more half-cup servings of broccoli per week had a 44 percent lower incidence of bladder cancer compared to men who ate less than one serving per week. Some researchers suggest that small amounts of broccoli sprouts may protect against the risk of cancer as effectively as much larger amounts of the mature vegetable."
Although corn can also provide useful nutrients such as folate (helps prevent colon cancer) and ferulic acid (in cooked sweet corn), folic acid can be found in other sources. Also, if corn spoils and produces a compound called fumonisin due to fungal decomposition, it can be toxic and lead to cancer. Some studies show that corn oil can also stimulate the rapid growth of breast and prostate cancer cells.
It looks like your safest bet is to go with broccoli and the other cruciferous vegetables, garlic and tomatoes. You can steam the broccoli a bit, add some chopped onions and tomatoes and garlic and make a fritatta out of it with "Egg Beaters" for breakfast. It's a prefect healthy food. Just use olive, sunflower, safflower or canola oil instead of corn oil.
broccoli, it is a cruciferous vegetable, it has cancer fighting agencies, corn is mainly a starch
Broccolli, naturally.

Corn comes out looking the same way in did when it went in which suggests that it is not digested fully so broccoli is healthier for you.

brocolli
Corn is high in carbohydrates and thus contains more calories (fattening). Broccoli is low in carbohydrates and high in minerals and vitamins, also young broccoli sprouts contain high levels of complex sulfur based compounds which may hinder cancer development. Go with the Broccoli
