A friend of mine can't kiss anyone without her lips getting puffy and red, its an allergic reaction but why?

Question: To clarify, she has been to a doctor and they don't know what is causing it but every time she kisses someone or uses chapstick or eats food, her lips puff up and become red and...well...nasty looking...the only thing I can think of is its oil....your ideas?
