Eyes too small for contact lense?
Question:

Soft lenses are tricky to position because if they touch a lash, eyelid or the edge of the lens touches the conjunctiva, they fold. And the eyes have a great blink reflex.
Always, always wash your hands, always, always do the entire cleansing routine with no shortcuts. Any sign of infection see your doctor immediately!
If you do this in the bathroom, make sure your sinks drain is closed and NO water is in the sink.
One of the tricks of inserting lenses is to make sure the eye is teary. Start with the left eye first. Wet the lens for the left eye and position it on your left middle finger (it's the longest finger). Bring your right arm over your head, open your left eye wide, with your right hands' fingers gently, but firmly press your upper lids lashes to the upper occipital bone. Position your left hands index and ring finger on the cheek bone just below your left eye. Watching in a stand alone mirror, or your bathroom mirror, tip your head down (your eyes should be looking up now). With your middle finger, slowly bring the lens and place it on the lower side of the conjunctiva and slowly release the lashes and blink into place.
Repeat with the opposite hands for the right eye.
Once your eyes become used to this procedure you can try just inserting them with one hand holding down the lower lid and sliding the lens into the eye from the bottom. You know you are good when you can finally insert the lens with one hand and no blinking. Been there done that.
It's hard, there is no way around it and you just have to keep trying. Good Luck. Hope this helps.

Hey there. I've been wearing soft contact lenses for about 8 years and at first, they are hard to get accustomed to.
Did you ask your optometrist for tips and advise? If so and you are still having problems, try this:
place your thumb under your eye, and use your index finger to lift the upper eye lid up. (Using the right hand for right eye). Place your contact lens on your index finger of your left hand and look up and right. Then gently pop the contact into the middle of your eye.
Sometimes the contact will appear to 'float' around for a second or two. Just move your eyes around and the contact will centre itself automatically.
I have also found that putting one drop of contact solution into the 'cup' of the contact increases comfort when putting them in.
Oh, and also, I beleive that 14.5 is the average diameter of contacts, but I think you can get different sizes.
Hope this helps!
