Is it very surprising! I was not knowing about it
i have type O blood too but i haven't been banned from driving but i should be because ummm...let's just leave it at i should be banned.
In easy words, any O negative patient is very reactive to transfusion and can actually not receive other than O negative blood. It is a question of Antigen status of the blood cell.
On the other hand, all groups can receive O neg (as it doesnt present antigens on its surface) and it is the blood of choice in emergency situations.
