People cheat for many reasons. The most prevailent in my opinion is personal gratification. People always look out for themselves, often with disregard to others. Another would be a relationship that is difficult to get out of. if one partner is abusive, it may be safer to go behind his/her back than to confront or end a relationship. another is special circumstances. If your significant other is in a coma for 2 years, you will have needs and may want to act upon them (or be faithful, but thats up to the person). what if you are in a relationship that you know is going downhill and about to end, and you see an opportunity for a better relationship, and dont have the time or cant get ahold of your current partner? this would depend on the couple's definition of cheating, which is another problem. some people consider a kiss cheating, while others dont consider sex cheating as long as theres permission. couples should define their expectations to each other on this topic before becoming serious. Other people do it for the danger of getting caught, the feeling of doing something wrong excites them. Still others dont know that they are not satisfied in their relationships until someone else comes onto them and makes them feel special. A desire to still be with the original partner and a desire not to hurt them along with the desire to be with the person who makes them feel special makes people dishonest and cheaters.
The one excuse that bothers me is the "I was drunk" line. That cannot be considered an excuse because i would hold anyone accountable for their actions, and if they know they cant control themselves then they a) shouldnt get drunk to the point of losing control, or b) shouldnt get drunk without their partner or a friend around to stop them from being stupid
I would never cheat. I have never cheated and will never cheat. I have been cheated on in the past and it is one of the most painful things that could happen to someone, especially if you care about the person that does it to you. i would not wish that feeling on my worst enemy.
Just because i feel that some situations could be justified doesnt mean i will ever do it. btw i am one of those people who feels that kissing is cheating, but when i got cheated on it was full blown sex. It really messes people up, and even to this day its still hard to trust girls. I have an amazing one now that i know i can trust, but deep down the thought of it will never go away. people should consider what it will do to the other person before deciding to do it
because they are not happy in the relationship. Chalk it up to a life lesson and move on!

Sometimes It's hard to verbalize how we feel inside and you guys never really wanna talk about whats going on in the relationship. So when reach out to someone who seems to take interest in how we are feeling at the moment we let our guards down and things begin to happen.
To satisfy a need that they feel is unfilled. They are losers who don't know the meaning of hard work or perserverance and feel like bringing someone else into the mix is going to magically make things better in thier life.
