Has anyone had Laysic eye surgery? Did it work and are you happy with it?

Question:

Answers:
I had LASIK in December. Prior to the surgery, I was legally blind. Now my vision is 20/20. My only problem is that I'm experiencing persistant dryness in both eyes. Even with this problem -- which doesn't happen to everyone -- I'm thrilled with the results. I hadn't seen my feet in the shower or the clock from bed since I was about seven, and as far as I'm concerned it's a miracle.

I have to recommend that you do it right, though. Some doctors advertise "per eye" rates, but DO NOT go that route. There will be hidden fees, and it will actually likely cost you more in the long run. It's better to find a reputable doctor and pay a bit more. You only have one set of eyeballs -- don't screw them up!

Other Answers:
I've had the LASIK eye surgery and am happy with the results. My vision improved to 20/15 and 20/20. Just be aware of the potential risks and that results are not as good for everyone if you're planning to have the procedure. Also look for a good doctor who has done at least several hundred of these surgeries and has a low rate of complications with his/her patients.

I had Lasik done on both eyes. My vision is now 20/15, which is 25% better than perfect.

There were no complications, no pain, and the surgery was over in less than 2 minutes!!

I highly recommend it. I paid $2800 for both eyes.

No. no one has ever had lasik eye surgery, and no one is happy with it. that's why there aren't very many lasik eye surgeons in the world, and that's why their numbers aren't increasing every day. Yes, I had LASIK about three years ago. It worked great, I am extremely satisfied.

Just make sure you go to a reputable doctor for it, not one of those LASIK factories that advertises low prices on billboards. This is definitely NOT something where you want to compromise quality for price.

There are 2 types of eye surgery.
LASIK is when they cut the front of the cornea, lift it up, and put the laser in, then replace the flap.
LASEK (which I had) uses eye drops to dissolve the front layer of the cornea. This takes a little longer to recover from.
Both are painless. I had it done, love it. My eyes are now better than perfect.
Worth every penny. My son had it 4yrs ago, inorder to be accepted into the Marine Corps and yes we were very happy with it! He lost most of his sight in that eye due to juvenille diabetes and had to wear some pretty unattractive glasses, fortunetly he doesn't have trouble with either condition now.

My dad also had it done, last year. He has worn glasses 60yrs.
Now no more glasses and it restored the color in his beautiful blue eyes.
