6 year old with persistant night coughs and stiff neck?

For the last week my daughter goes to bed and instantly starts coughing and now she is complaining of her left side of her neck to be sore,kinda behind the ear.Any ideas b4 I call the doctor in the morning.Thanks

Answers:
my daughter had the same issues, much younger though. It turned out to be ashma. They gave her an inhaler and put her on a daily medication. she could also have an ear infection, caused by the post nasal drip that comes with the cough. either way, i would take her to the doctor to check it out. they will probably also check her for allergies.
