we see everything upside down, but something in our brain flips it around?.. huh? lol?

Question:
can someone explain this to me, as my little brother is convinced now that the world is upside down lol

Answers:
There is an area of the brain, the visual cortex, located at the occipital brain, that part of the brain in the very back of the skull, that interprets nerve impulses transmitted through the optic nerve. We don't understand how it works but it does. If the visual cortex is damaged before birth or from a blow to the back of the head, the result can be blindness. Astigmatism does not have the effect that someone else stated. Astigmatism is a condition in which the surface of the lens and cornea are uneven.

Someone else was trying to spell "retina" but this is the area at the back of the eye. It serves a different function and does not interpret what we see.
The shape of the lens in the eye flips images upside down onto the retina. The brain interprets the image right side up because humans live in an upright position.
