My four year old has a mucousy stool streaked with blood and no other symptoms. This started today.any clues?
Question:
no fever, no stomach pain.
Of course I've taken her to the doctor, we're waiting for the results from the stool sample. I'm not an idiot, just anxious.
Answers:
Of course you are not an idiot. All us mums would do the same thing while waiting for the results ... ie searching the internet for answers
(how did our parents do it without the net for reassurances).
Now to answer your question, it is most likely just an infection and your Dr will most likely give her antibiotics (ask her Dr if it's absolutely necessary before accepting the prescription for antibiotics- you want to keep antibiotics away from children).
The worst case scenario isn't worth discussing with you because it will only make you more anxious and it is extremely UNLIKELY to be the cause at her age.

NOT SURE BUT AS LONG AS SHES BEEN TO THE DOCTORS OR HOSPITAL..THEY WILL FIND OUT FOR YOUUNLESS ANYONES A DOCTOR I SHOULD NOT LISTEN TO THEM FROM ANY ANSWERS..AS THE JUST MIGHT MAKE YOU MORE NERVOUS...HOPE EVERYTHING TURNS OUT OK...GOD BLESS YOUR LITTLE ONE
