What are the basics of emergency medicine?

This is a pretty borad question. What type of emergency medicine are you refering to? EMT-B is 3 months 130 hrs, EMT-A 4 months 180 hrs, Paramedic, 1-2 yrs some get associates degrees, MD, Med school residency.
