what is the lymph node in front of my trigus mean?
Question:
Answers:
There is a small lymph node located where you mentioned, in front of the tragus of your ear. It drains your scalp, forehead and the front facing skin of your ear. You probably have a furruncle/abscess (pimple) or area of cellulitis on your scalp or forehead that has stimulated enlargement of this lymph node.
When you visit your doctor he will look for the abscess and will suggest that you apply warm soaks until it drains, incise and drain it himself, and he may give you antibiotics in addition to the former.
If the lymph node is not tender to touch and there is no inflammatory lesion causing it, your doctor may suggest that it be removed for biopsy since there are a number of treatable medical conditions that are first detected in enlarged non-tender lymph nodes.
It is more than likely a pustule (a build up/pocket of puss like a csyst) or a pimple. In the location you describe it wouldn't be a lymph node.
