Question:

Answers:
I know it can be an exciting or not so exciting moment for a girl to start her period depending on if she's been anticipating it or not. This seems to be a good article to start with, talking to her on her level.

Good luck.

Oh my goodness! First of all please educate yourself ,if you are not already ,about the issue. Second please find a nice women she can talk too about it lol. Because men just don't understand, but be able to answer questions if necessary.
just the facts..

a period is a way of relieving the body of a pregnancy opportunity that didn't happen.

it happens once (as a general rule) every 28 days (as a rule) and midway through her cycle, she will ovulate. it she has intercourse within 2-4 days prior to ovulation, she may get pregnant. yes, you can get pregnant the first time.
she may have discomfort, advil or aleve may help, carry extra pads with you, do not be embarassed, (reserve the tampons for later years) good luck
tell her to chane her pads every 2-4 hours so she want be funky tampons or not comtable ose Always pads in the yellow wrapper and just talk to about sex and suff tell her why her priod is running dont have sex she'll get hiv
just explain to her that it is a natural part of life for young ladies most of all be honest , it is the shedding of the lining of the uterus which is the bodies way of getting rid of toxins. it is also best to explain the facts of life
I, personally, have found that those Thermacare heat patches help immensely with cramps. I put a towel over the middle section of my bed so that just in case there are any leaks, it's easier to wash a towel than a whole load of bedding. Drink a lot of water, and tell her to pamper herself! Wear comfy clothes, because it's absolutely horrible when your pants are too tight and the pad keeps going up your bum =P Haha- good luck!

Experience
Well, this can be a moving experience for the both of you.

Most of what I know on this topic I read in Dr. Christine Northrup's Journals and books. From what I remember, celebration is a key. Making her feel special from the getgo is very important in making her feel secure with herself. Prepare a special meal, Take her to have her ears lightly pierced. Tell her that honoring this cycle is like how people look at the sun and the moon changes every day.
