Does anyone know...?

Question:
I am seriously wondering about that horrible toxic black mould that so many people are talking about. My bathroom is in serious need of renovating (just have to get around to it...$$$) anyway, for the past few months I have noticed this spotty black mould appearing here and there. It is on the caulking, the celing, around the glass doors, creeping in between the tiles. I clean regularly and have gone as far as spraying and scrubbing it with pure clorine bleach but it always comes back.
Does anyone know how I can find out if it is the toxic mould and what the symptoms are when a human gets sick from it?
I really am becoming concerned...and frusterated...it is UGLY!!!

Answers:
From Start Remodeling:

"most active mold colonies appear greenish to black (typical of mold growing on bathroom tile grout) in color"

Also:

"Stachybotrys Chartarum, Penicillium and Aspergillus – Toxic, Health threatening molds, found in homes, businesses and schools near you. These molds can be found anywhere that dark and dank conditions permit them to grow. "

There is a difference between the standard mold you find on your grout and ceilings (see above) and toxic black mold (see 2nd paragraph) which likes to live in the dark. So don't jump to conclusions, yet. Check the site below for full information and a free pamphlet to help you make an informed decision. Also, there is a link for a mold test kit, as mentioned in an above posting.

Good luck!
Call your local county environmental health office. They'll be able to check it out. Good luck!
