Chest xrays?

Question:
Have any of you ever had a chest xray? Is it ok to have one a year?

Answers:
Chest xrays are used to detect TB, lung cancer or pneumonia. Teachers and other educational personnel are required to have an xray done when starting a job. Health care workers are required to have one done if they have been exposed to TB, as are others who were exposed to TB. If someone is sick and the doctor wants to check for pneumonia then get an xray. If the doctor is keeping tract of a problem, then get an xray. Otherwise there is no reason to subject yourself to the radiation every year.
I've had one a year for 15 years. >cough, cough< This is normal practice for adults as part of the annual physical.

My daughter probably had 15-20 a year for most of her life. She never had any complications related to x-ray exposure.
