My hubby wants to get lasik surgery done. Anyone got that done?

Question:
We're looking for people's opinions after surgery. Was it worth it? How much did it cost? Are there any cons to it?
TIA!

Answers:
Up here in Canada they advertise Lasik at a starting rate of $300 per eye...a decent deal.

I have never heard anything bad about Lasik surgery, although we must keep in mind that any procedure is only as good as the person doing it. I think if you shop around your area--get word of mouth referrals for a particular practitioner--check them out at the Better Business Bureau--you should do fine.

I'd also make sure my appointment was for the middle of the week. On a Monday, your practitioner could be recovering from an eventful weekend. On a Friday he would be looking forward to his planned weekend at the cottage. I'd also make sure that the guy that did my eyes was some sort of trained eye specialist. He doesn't necessarily need to be an eye surgeon, but he can't be a dentist trying to make extra money either. (I've heard of dentists that perform plastic surgery on the side.) You might try getting referrals from the local Doctor's Association.
Hi, my father got it done in Sydney, Australia and it cost him $1,500 for each eye. He only felt mild pressure while having the procedure done and only mild discomfort after for about 6 hrs. like when you get a bit of soap in your eyes. He could not see anything if he took his glasses off and now he can see better than me!! He has 20/20 vision. Definitely worth doing. The surgery only took a little over 10 minutes and i got to watch the whole thing. Was very interesting.
