When you are hangin' at home try wearing gloves or those little rubber fingertips like you see in an office. Then you will notice when you put your hand up to bite nails and help break the cycle.

I'd say rub a chile on them and then everytime you bite them you'll remember to stop. Or wear gloves for a while, or think things like "If I bite them, then my Parents are gonna die."
If you notice you are doing it and really want to quit then stop when you notice for God's sake. You are going to need some self control if you want to stop and that will start with stopping when you notice you bitting. Try to dip your finger tips into mustard or some strong tasting seasoning, then wash your hands, the taste should remain enough to make it stop soon.
you should try getting acrylic nails, that helped a couple people i know stop chewing their nails. i hope this helps.
