Hi! You are definitely NOT crazy ; ) Vivid dreams we remember are for a reason. Most dreams are never literal, meaning they aren't to be taken as they are....your brain uses symbols to usually tell you something from your subconscious mind to your conscious mind...so that you get a message about yourself. The symbols from what you tell me about your dream can tell you alot, but I would need more details to really give you an interpretation.
For example, beheaded (or decapitation) means "afraid of losing your head" : acting dishonourably...so perhaps you are worried that you or your boyfriend may be weak and not make the right decision.
Or, the fact that you got something started and then didn't mean to and tried to stop it and couldn't - could mean in your waking life you feel like things are out of your control, or you have a fear of not being able to control a certain situation. Sounds like to me you want to be in control in your life, but you feel out of control about something. It could be your relationship with your boyfriend - feeling like you want to have more control and choices, but afraid to make the wrong decisions and pay for the consequences. Remember too, the dream usually is about you and not necessarily the person, so maybe it is more about your life and being unsure of yourself.
Remember to think about other symbols in the dream, the colours, the objects - then find a good dream symbol book and try to see what those symbols mean - it can be the missing puzzle pieces that help you understand yourself better.
