Answers:
The skin of a potato will take the heat out of a burn, first off cool off the burn with cool water not cold water(it will trap the heat inside) check out the websites below for more help I copied the links for you

toothpaste

try aloe aloe vera. it works on burns of lots of kinds.

WATER!!

An ice pack - but thats really hot, I'd use the ice on the way to the hospital.

Aloe vera is the best. First apply ice. Then apply aloe. If blisters occur, call your doctor. The risk for infection for a second degree burn is very high and your daughter should be seen. Good luck. P.S. after you apply the ice and aloe you can apply ice cold wash cloths to the burned area. I also keep aloe in the refrigerator.

Run it under some cold water to take the sting away. If you have aloe-vera, put that on after the fact to help with soothing the pain.

get her to the hospital as they have medicine to keep infection away while taking the sting out of the burn.

aloe vera, ice pack, burn gel (try Wal Mart)

If it looks real bad take her to ER or Fam. Doc. Had a friend do that, she had 3rd degree burns.

You can put vinegar or mustard on it to take the pain out. I would not recommend ice as it is only temporary for a pain reliever and as soon as you take ice off it will start burning again. So it mainly prolongs it. rinsing it with cool water for 15-30 minutes should ease the pain. How bad is the burn, is the skin broken? Don't use ice or ice water as it can cause tissue damage. Apply an antibiotic ointment such as Polysporin after cleansing the burn with soap and water. If the skin is open, apply a bandage, if it is not no bandage is needed. I did the same thing when I was little when my leg accidently brushed up against my father's motorcycle exhaust pipe.

Depending how bad it is, you may want to contact your doctors office first.
