I don't think so at all. Men work like slaves to get their bodies in shape and all women have to do is eat less and look pretty. Girls care more about their face tbh. Men have to do weights on top of all the exercises that women do so I don't think women care "more", they just talk about it more openly maybe?
Maybe it's because the tactics used by most women (i.e. going on diets and not exercising) never work so they complain about it all the time where as men just do weights and look good. i don't really know...

Because both sexes judge women more on looks than men. More women are willing to go out with ugly or okay looking guys than men are to go out with bad looking women.
I think that they care more about appearance than straight men (in general). But exceptions are everywhere!

some men are very conscious of it, but most men only worry about how big their penis is, women have been held up as images beauty wise for thousands of years and its drummed into us you cant get a good husband unless you look just so.
I don't know if that's true anymore, I hear about a lot of guys going to extreme measures to fit the ideals of beuty set out by hollywood just like women do. But they probably care more because that's what is expected of them. I'm not too keen on my body, it could use work, but I like it. My relatives want me to loose my gut more than I want to. Men are more visual than women, so if she looks attractive, the likelihood of a guy asking her out is higher than if she's got fat hanging everywhere, and is wearing skimpy clothing, but as a good head on her shoulders. We're expected to care more about our beuty, and when we don't, people think we're weird. It's just easier to conform to norms than be urself if ur different and dodge all the questions of y are u different and want to be.
