I think that it's allergy season and you should see the doctor to get some antibiodics so your sore throat doesn't end up becoming strep.
It's possible that this isn't it, but I felt like I had a small lump towards the back of my throat not too long ago. I couldn't swallow without some degree of pain, and I had a lot of phlegm.
I had it checked out by a doctor, and it turned out to be a throat sore called "herpangina" caused by a very common cold virus (the coxsackie virus). I believe that 5% of people with this virus develop Strept throat, and that the only real treatments are: anti-inflammatory medecine, dairy food, cold foods, and throat numbing sprays for comfort. The sore lasts about 7 to 10 days.
Of course, this case may not apply to you. I'm sure that any nurse or doctor should be able to tell [whether or not this specific case does] as soon as you, you know, "open your mouth and say, 'Ah'" for them. Etc.
