Does anyone frequently wake up with headaches?

Question:
I do not have sleep apnea, i know that is a cause. it is mostly when i am at home. i work a 24/48 hour shift, so i sleep at the fire department 1 night and at home 2 nights.
once i get up, move around, and start my day the headache usually goes away.

Answers:
A thought pops to mind that you may be stressing neck muscles in your sleep causing cramping that denies blood flow thus the headache. I might suggest a new pillow strategy. I'm talking like bigger or smaller or none. Good luck.

Other Answers:
Yes, it is when your body needs water, you should drink lots of water, especially before you go to bed, try not to smoke or drink lots of coffee late in the day.

Well, it could be that you're hungry or it could be a medical condition, sorry i don't know more about this, but usually it is linked to hunger since you haven't eatten since the night before. Unless it's due to stress. You should see a doctor if the condition is frequent. My dentist told me that I grind my teeth, and that's a cause for headaches in the morning. You must have a lot on your mind, or a lot of stress. Stress causes a person to grind.

might be the way you sleep i do that i pop my neck i feel fine :)

I go to bed with a headache and also wake up with it to.but I have really bad migraines and have some kick a$$ pain pills for them

yup. I always have headaches in the morning. I don't know why. I sleep regularly. i get that too. i don't know what causes that. it seems that when i go to work there is no headache, but if i stay home and sleep in, i wake up with a pounding head.

I HAVE USE TO HAVE SAME PROB I USE A FEATHER PILLOW

Do you sleep flat or on an incline? Normal mucous and fluids cannot drain from the sinuses if you sleep flat which can cause pressure which can cause headaches in the morning and go away after the fluid drains and releases the pressure.

Good luck! The air could be too dry and it could cause your sinuses to agitate a bit. Try some saline spray before you go to bed and then right after you wake up.
You could also try (silly I know) bringing the pillow from home with you to the station. My brother is a firefighter and he had neck problems/headaches until be start using the same pillow.
Try those things and keep on keeping on!!
Good luck and be safe!!
