after u stop smoking..?

Question:
How long does it take for all the nicotine to get out of ur body? How long do u have withdraws also?

Answers:
first, congrats on making a very wise choice, as a cancer survivor..I can promise you, within a short period of time, you will feel noticably better. How long it takes to get the poisons out of your body depends on how long you smoked, and how much you smoked. Most of the toxic stuff the government allows in those killer cigarettes are out of you within three days. Drink lots, and lots and LOTS of water..and what I did was every time I had to run to pee..I envisioned all the toxins leaving me! I kept hard candy on hand, so when I was craving, I could pop in a hard candy.see, the nicotine makes your blood sugar bounce(along with alot of other stuff its doing to you), so the hard candy helps. I also bought stick type pretzels. You can hold them between your fingers, suck on the end of them.heck, I ended up chewing off the salt and tossing the pretzels to the dogs..but..after about ohh..probably a week, I was over the worst of it..and the coolest part was I had gained a sense of taste and smell I hadnt known I had! I could actually tell when my houseplants were in need of water, or had enough(wet earth vs dried) food tasted better. all kinds of neat things!! I have to say though, it was still a year later that I was hacking up black crap from my lungs..after all, its TAR. and I smoked menthols for over 20 years, so its gonna take awhile to get all that crap out of you..but..the first three days are the worst..and if you just..get mad at the fact the government paid the farmers to spray the tobacco with stuff to addict you, should be incentive enough to quit..plus..mebbe, hearing from a cancer survivor. Good luck, and dont let anyone make you backslide! stay away from smokers, and eventually? the smell of those nasty things will be a total turn off..I promise!

Other Answers:
Physical withdrawal is approximately 48 hours; after that it is psychological. The longer you are stopped the easier it is, and usually within a year or so you may become allergic to smoke.
