Aetna has increased my monthly premium after only 6 months. Can they do that?
Question:
BEING INCREASED TO $359. A MONTH. THIS IS FOR A $5,000. DEDUCTIBLE. WHEN i CALLED THE INSURANCE THE C.S.R TOLD ME THAT AETNA CAN TAKE AN INCREASE EVERY 6 MONTHS. I THOUGHT A CONTRACT WAS FOR A CALENDAR YEAR, NOT SEMI-ANNUALLY.ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE AN ANSWER?
Answers:
Aetna is evil. I hate that company. The amount they cover won't even cove an appendectomy. Yes they can do it, and they will keep going up. What really sucks, is you cant cancel it until your policy is up. Switch to Blue Cross when you can.
Other Answers:
You need to check your policy's fine print.
you need to try to find a cheaper insurance program aetna sucks anyway they did the same to me and screwed me up without telling me and let my insurance drop because i didn't pay the full amount that i didn't know about
Yes they can, unless you have in writing that they can only increase at a certain time.
Dont have the answer but Yea I know what ya mean. Cheatin Bastards!!
I would talk to your HR department first because they have someone at Aetna they deal directly with. Hopefully you should get some answers that way.but it sounds like u may have to switch plans or find a new insurance company if possible.
