Diagnosed positive for RA, can I delay or prevent it ??

Question:
I had some blood tests done recently for pain in my elbow and the results were negative for Lupis but positive for RA (rhumatoid arthritis). Now the doctor said this doesn't mean I have it or definately will get it but I am predisposed to it. I remember my grandfather before he passed, he had spinal arthritis and was in so much pain. I should have asked my doc. and probably will, but maybe you can save me the $$? .Is there anything I can do to delay or prevent this from happening to me. I am a healthy 45 year old female and dread/fear my possible future agony.

Answers:
Rheumatoid Arthritis. First of all try to learn what is arthritis then only you can delay it. In arthritis there is inflammation inside the joint which can damage the joint badly. Yes you can delay the progression of RA, Consult your Physio, He will give you wax/ UV/ us/ for pain and will give you a line of exercise program to keep you and your joints in shape. Keep one thing in mind now for rest of the life you will have to do exercises. EXERCISE WITH PAIN MANAGEMENT MODALITIES ARE THE ONLY WAY TO DELAY THE PROGRESSION OF THE RHEUMATOID. ALL THE BEST. watch out about hormone replacement therapy, but look into it.become your body's best friend.learn hatha yoga and kriya techniques mainly for the pranayama breathing and how to align and get to "know your body and your whole essence".stop letting the cult of dis-ease give you labels for your problems and rather, understand what is, not what can be.

I'm a 42 yr. old female with RA and a host of other problems, unfortunately, I don't think you can make it go away. A friend of mine who has RA drinks cherry juice or eats cherries right off of her tree and she swears by it. Me, I take Loratab for it and I've been on that for 5 years. Keep in mind I have other problems as well, but try the cherry juice, it may work for you. Oh, and Omega-3 is great for a lot of things.
