However the number of sperms is only one factor to take into account when a question of infertility is raised. The "mobility" of sperms under the microscope is also very important and is also assessed.

For instance you may have a not too low sperm count, but if the mobility is low, you may still be infertile. On the other hand, you may have a low count but good mobility and you could be fertile.

Anyway, this is done AFTER infertility is established, not before (which is defined as 1 year of regular sexual intercourse without achieving pregnancy). THEN you do the sperm count and check the woman as well, NOT BEFORE.

There is a difference between a low sperm volume and a low sperm count. Go to the doctor and have them run the test.
