If you have any excess weight, go on a diet. You can use oatmeal, Chinese red yeast and other items listed in articles in the website below.
I would avoid statins and work on getting your cholesterol down by natural means. Statins can wreck havoc with your energy and your health, especially by affecting your CoQ10 levels.
Hope this helps.

eat lots of fruit, less fatty foods, and exercise.
Hello, sorry to hear your health is not so good right now, but the good news is you can change your cholestrol by cutting out foods. I would check with your doctor to ensure exactly the best way to lower it. However to get you started cut out greasy foods, cheese's, butter's, and anything really high in fat. I have heard parships and radishes can lower your colesterol. Sorry if this doesn't help. Good luck to you, and make every effort to get yourself better, people would miss you in the world. start taking drugs.

It will give you the basic information you need. Exercise will help, even walking 30 minutes a day. Eat more whole grains, more fruits and vegetables, fewer meat and dairy products and carefully avoid much saturated and hydrogenated fat and oil, substituting moderate amounts of poly- and mono-unsaturated fats. Be especially wary of trans fatty acids. The new labeling requirements will really help with that.
Keep in touch with your doc, and if changing your diet and exercise habits don't help over a period of time, talk to hir about medicines that can help. If you have a genetic predisposition to high cholesterol, all the "lifestyle" changes in the world may not help enough. High cholesterol is a killer.
The age old saying holds true. "You are what you eat."
It is rather toublesome finding out and how much cholesterol you take in everyday especially when you dine out all the time. Furthermore, you don't exactly know what they put inside your food. Thus, I feel that the best solution is to bring your own lunch box to work and eat at home for dinner more often. You'll learn to be more careful in choosing what to prepare for yourself if you do it instead. This way, it is easier to keep track on your diet and plan your exercise routine to balance the whole diet up. Didn't the doctor who told you this give you a list of things to do to help it? If not, I would seriously consider finding a new doc, he isn't earning his money!
