Why do I get sore throats after it rains? I don't want to go to the doc just for a sore throat. What do I do

Question:

Answers:
Because of the huge amount of moisture in the air.

When it is very dry, your nasal passages become dry.
When your nasal passages can't dry up, you get a constant drip of mucus that drains down the back of your throat.

Mucus, is very acidic. It irritates your throat, making it sore.

You're not really sick but it is annoying.

I'm an RN and I too have that happen to me as well.

When that happens, just suck on a throat lozenge. Also, if you have a blow dryer, just blow it in your face, on a warm setting to dry out your nostrils and sinuses.

It works like a charm!

By the way, everyone that has given you cold remedies are very sweet but you're not suffering from a cold.

Just post nasal drip. The zinc would help, if you had a cold but all YOU need is a blow dryer and some lozenges.

You will always get sore throats after golden showers duh!

Warm salt water .lemon& honey.. Hot tea & honey

i've heard gargling warm saltwater or hydrogen peroxide helps. or throat lozenges One thing a former roommate of mine taught me was how to heal a sore throat. Take a gingerroot and slice a really THIN piece off of it.. actually, a few pieces.. and add that and the juice of a lemon to boiling water, and boil it till the thin pieces of ginger are see-through. Pour it in a coffee cup and let it cool for a bit.. then drink it.. it should feel like its burning your throat a bit (its not literally burning.you definitely gotta wait till its cool enough to drink.. but not too cool (like coffee)) and what its doing is healing your throat :-)

It tastes good too:-)

Oh, instead of water, you can boil gingerale..

Good luck!!
