Is crying really good for you?

Question:
I heard that it is actually healthy to cry. Does anyone out there know the answer?

Answers:
We cry when we are least able to fully verbalize complex, overwhelming emotions and least able to fully articulate our feelings. It allows us to turn away from the cause of our anguish, and inward toward our own bodily sensations.Crying releases stress.Stress got too much unfavorable effects on our health therefore this mean crying is healthy.
It has a positive effect on mental health as well as crying is the most natural, accepted way of coping with pain, stress, and sorrow. When legitimate emotions are not fully recognized and expressed, insensitive acts from rudeness to school shootings can result.
One research study by Dr. Frey revealed chemical tears (caused by onions) were 98 percent water while emotional tears contained more toxins. This proves crying helps to get rid of some toxins out of our body.
"Crying is natural, healthy and curative,"
(Precaution: Females must take care of their make ups when crying not to look horrible. To everybody please do not use crying as an excuse, please do not abuse the beauty of its purpose.)

Yep, there are chemical differences between tears shed when you cry vs. tears shed when you cut onions or have allergies.
It cleanses your system of the chemicals produced by strong emotions.

Yes it is, you can release stress and your emotions..after all you cried you will find your self feeling better
Most absolutely and definitely, yes!!

Crying provides for us a natural outlet to release our stress that is all bottled up within our bodies and it's no wonder why we all feel better after letting out a cry.

It's not a sign of weakness but rather a strength in order to be able to show our vulnerability and to acknowledge that we are humans who are in need for love, comfort and security.

By all means, we all could use a good cry every now and then.
Yes! It reduces stress which is a huge factor in many health problems. Let it out, then go out dancing with your girlfriends!
It is good if you are dealing with something you have "held in"

...like losing your house in a divorce.
Crying releases endorphins and that is proven to be good for you...
Even though you may think , how moronic is that....and after you are exhausted from to much crying...sonn afterwards you feel much better....right?
it is healthy to cry.
Yes crying releases endorphins that actually can make you feel better. Sex also releases endorphins but you can't ( or shouldn't) have a boink at a funeral.Actually, any physical stimulation can be trigger this reaction but sometimes a sob can help you so very much.
Well, gosh darnit I must be the healthiest person on the planet at this point in time. I should also be stress free, my system should be cleaned out to the nth degree and I should be overdosed on endorphins.

Now please excuse me, I have to run out to the store for another box of tissues. *curtsies and then wipes her eyes on the hem of her skirt*
Crying is good if you need your eyes lubricated or if you believe it heals your psychic pain. The jury is still out on whether psychogenic tears have any physiological benefits.
Check out my source it is really interesting.
I am the one who like crying. When I cannot cry out, I feel tense and sensitive. Moreover, I tend to feel everything around me are dull.

How u define healthy? after crying? After my crying, I feel light and I have to stand up again. I know I am kind of weak, but with the cry I can assure myself of persuit...
I think crying at sensitive movies while on a date isn't good for me. I think crying because I've witnessed a horrible traffic accident and no it's still not good for me. I think crying because it's half time you've run out of beer and you've no girlfriend to go buy you more is unavoidable. I think crying is a natural emotion and (rolls eyes) people should cry if they must. I know it clears eye ducts my new very lovely eye doctor told me this. She told me this while I was asking her questions about crying because I wanted to seem sensitive. She sent me home with directions to hot compress my eyes three times daily to loosen that clogged eye pour or gland whatever the hell it is. It's a release crying like well (awkward rethinking allegory pause) youqa.coms, a release can't be all bad.

Einstein is right about the endorphins.
But crying still creates a huge amount of sadness. Crying at a wedding is normal.
Crying related to bad situations may calm you down for awhile but not sure if it really helps in the long run.
Guess it depends on how long and how hard you cry. It can literally wear you out. I guess that is where the endorphins come in.
Still it sucks. I wish there was a way to control it a bit more. Men seem to have it easier there. Why can't we?
I'm sure someone already gave a good chemical breakdown but basically there's a certain chemical in tears that is harmful if it's left in the body. There's a theory that the fact that guys don't cry as much as women may contribute to their earlier mortality as they have higher levels of this chemical in their bodies.
It makes my mascara run. It is supposed to be an emotional release.
