For MOST people it is on their right side. But not everybody. A small percentage of people actually have their organs on opposite sides. One of my wife's coworkers once went to hospital with appendicitus and the doctor incised her right side to operate only to find that she was one of the few. He had to sew her up and continue from the other side. That was the first time I heard that that was possible.
