What happens when stitches get wet?

Question: I was just at the pool and I have a small, half an inch line of stitches. now, I had a waterproof bandaid on it, but this time, for some reason, it didnt hold. they get removed on thursday but I knwo i wasnt supposse dto get them wet, now that they have gotten wet, what cant i expect??

you should be just fine. if you start bleeding then seek a doctor

they dissolve quicker just keep an eye on them (for infection as well)

When my sister had stiches she always rinsed it with water so it wouldn't get infected or something like that. I didn't know we can't get them wet!! But my sister didn't have a big scar when her stiches were removed.
