I feel that we have all known someone who has been a victim of benign and malign neglect in "assisted living facilities", nursing homes, convalescent homes, etc.
My maternal grandmother was a victim of such abuse.
There was a time in our society when the elderly in our families became sick or infirm we cared for them at home.
