I have a bump on my neck, what is it?

Question:
I woke up one morning and found a bump the size of a pea under my ear (kinda by where the jaw meets the neckish area). It hurts kinda like a bruse. what is it? should i go to the doctor?

Answers:
Yes, you absolutely have to go to the doctor. They happen all the time. And they are easy for a doctor to remove. It is probably a localized lymph node infection or a dermoid cyst. or maybe it is even a ganglion cyst. But you need to have it removed.

Internet diagnosis isn't reliable. You need to talk to a doctor.

More than likely it sounds like your gland is swollen. It's perfectly normal for your glands to swell once in a while. Swollen glands usually signal an oncoming cold, or other virus. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it doesnt go away for a couple of weeks, or enlarges further you should see a doctor.

try looking at it in a mirror if you can, or take a picture and look at it. it couldn't be a tumor because tumors are flattish and blend in with the skin until they grow bigger. it could be just a large wart or pimpil, dont worry, and yes go to the doctor just in case.

Just slice it off with a cleaver and chuck it in your pets mouth.

If you excessively bleed, make an appointment with the morgue.

Kidding aside, have you ever heard of a "dermatologist"?
