Alcohol Abuse problem?
Question:
BTW, I am in no way phisically or emotionally addicted to alcohol. I only drink socially while out with friends/girlfriend, etc.
Answers:
Regardless of the frequency of times-per-month you drink, regardless of how responsible you feel, and regardless of whether or not you are physically or emotionally addicted to alcohol, if you cannot predict with reasonable certainty what's going to happen in your life once you start drinking, then you have a problem.
And when you get to the point of "near blackout or total blackout (depending on who I'm with)," and can't remember what happened, you therefore cannot predict with any certainty what will happen at any time you drink.
Aside from the fact you are lucky you haven't hurt or killed yourself and/or someone else, God only knows what other problems you might be causing in your life and how those problems can affect yourself and your family.
I can't say that you need AA (Alcoholic's Anonymous), but I think that would be a good place to start to see what's going on with you and how they might be able to help.
Good Luck!
go to a local meeting of alcoholics anonymous in your area and see if you belong there. all the answers you need are in those meetings
