Answers:
Wait and see what your doctor has to say. You may have dislocated it temporarily. Popping back in may have done some nerve damage. Meanwhile, don't try to do anything that will hurt it. Take pain relievers, try heating pads (or if it's swollen, ice packs) and rest it.

You may need physical therapy to get your strength back. There are elastic bands called Thera-bands that look like giant rubber bands, so you can do some of the exercizes at home. There are also stretches your doctor can have you do.

Other Answers:
I had a chiropractor advise icepacs on the back of my neck, for a injury after the same kind of wreck, I was in. He said, "20 mins every two hours." I had no feeling in my arms and hands for over 8 months and the moons in my fingertips disappeared. They've never changed back, after more than 10 years. Surgery was recommended but wasn't an option for me. Slowly over a period of two years, the normal feeling returned. Healing takes time.
