My husband has it and takes percocet. He can't take Aleve, kills his stomach, ibuprofen will also destroy your stomach lining after awhile, none of it is good for you. What his doctor told him is to take something for awhile, then get off it for a minimum of two weeks to let your stomach heal. Also, make sure you eat when you take anything to help protect your stomach as well.

Aleve. Works for me but I have menstrual pain as apposed to arthritis.
probably a standard anti-inflammatory like diclofrenac or ibuprofen
you can ice the back at night and warm it in the morning - both will help
i just took a hydro and it didn't work...took alleve last night and it didn't work either......so i really can't tell u ...go luck i hope u feel better!
