What is the hardest habit you have ever had to quit and how did it go?
Question:
What habit(s) have you gave up and succedded in doing?
Answers:
Smoking.
Quitting smoking is like learning to walk. You're not going to do it without falling down. If you fall down, get weak for a moment and have a ciggie, don't surrender. Have that ciggie, but then throw the pack away. Go back on the wagon. Don't ... are you listening? Don't count the days. Counting the days is a subconscious way of saying "look at me! I'm going to fail!" You're seeing how many days you can go before you finally crack and go back on the habit. Don't keep track. Keep telling yourself: I'm quits. You break down, in a moment of stress you have a cigarette: Hey! The battle's not over! Just crush up the rest of the cigarettes and go back to quitting. Don't finish the pack. Throw it away. Good luck. You can do it!

Drinking. The first week is really rough. Have you tried the patches...
I gave up smoking. I still crave them years later but I just don't buy them.
SMOKING, It was hard, but worth it....Good Luck.
Giving up caffene. Spotty success.
Coffee...mmm...Coffee.... not addicted anymore, i only drink it when i really need it (2 hours of sleep+work next morning) I started drinking tea which is a more healthy alternative. I love tea, so it wasnt that hard of a switchover. I think it was more of a reliance than an addiction
smoking. i quit because my son was being born. i still smoked when i drank, but i guess i had 1 to many garage parties and started again.
Coco cola although I still drink it on rare occasions.
still trying to quit smoking..but I have quit drinking..that was one of the hardest things I have ever done in all my life--I swear but My life is sooo much better and I GOT to keep my family and my life and for THIS I would do it again. you can't put a price tag on---priceless

I have quit smoking many times! However, 3 years ago, I took a Program called Clean Break and it chnged my life. I haven't smoked since then. Good Luck! The first 3 days are the worst.
Biting my nails....I know your probably thinking "so what?" but when it's a nervous habit it's hard. It took me 3 years to finally stop completely.
Smoking. I quit twice, first time I quit for 6 years and a bad breakup drove me back to it. I quit three years later again and haven't had a smoke since (about 8 years now). I quit cold turkey both times.
Don't give in, I gave up smoking almost 5 months ago, and it DOES get better. Stick with it, breathe through your cravings, you will be fine. Just keep saying over and over again "I WILL NOT SMOKE". I also stopped drinking as well, smoking was harder, but get through the first week and it will be fine, trust me!
I gave up sex for a long time once, still masterbated though. That was the hardest.
Ambien was difficult after a year of taking it. It took a few days of hellish existence to do it.
I gave up beer for a year. That was tough too.
Good luck, try nicotene patches and substituting other habits.
picking my fingers, grinding my teeth. i am doing well with both, once in a while i catch myself and stop.
sometimes i fall and start doing both again. but i keep on trying not to do it.
i know i'll never completely stop but it helps to keep trying.
especially when both cause pain!
Smoking... really tough one but definitely worth the effort.
I am recovering addict from heroin, meth and pain killers those were all very hard to quit and is still hard every day some being tougher. I CAN"T quit smoking it's crazy but I have tried and just can't do it. I keep trying tho someday I'll get it. I couldn't just quit the others either took me a couple trys. Keep it up and good luck
I have a Pepsi addiction, cannot start my morning without my ice cold cup of poison! I think you are on your way to a good start, if my father can do it, (he smoked 2 packs a day) You can do it!!!
eating purposely to throw it back up again was my worse habit (years ago) and it got completely out of control. It went on for about 5 years - I didn't even want to do it most of the time but it became such a bad habit/addiction. I eventually 'grew out' of it, it was something I covered up and kept from people so I dealt with it myself!
i had succeeded cause i replaced one habit with another one
try chewing a gum everytime u want to smoke
Meth addiction was the hardest thing i've ever had to give up...took me 3 stints in rehab....i'm clean today but it's still a battle.
Methamphetamine. I started when I was 12 and quit when I was 37. I honestly don't know how I made it this far. I am now 42 and I still can't go a day without wanting it. It has played havoc on my mind and body and it has been tough trying to get myself back together. I am a labor and delivery nurse in a major hospital in Oklahoma and it's only by the Grace of God I did not lose my job. I used my friends and family as a support group and went to a therapy group 2 times a week. So far, so good.
The worst habit I had was being married to my ex. It took me 7 years to come to my senses and divorce his abusive @$$. The divorce was bad, then I moved away and became a happy person once again!....=)
i gave up smoking also. havent had one for 6 years. it is a hard habit to break but in the long run you will feel so much better. you have to want to quit for it to be sucessfull. I tried the patches and they helped somewhat.
the best of luck to you.
