Severe Back Pain, need help!?

Question:

My spine have deteriorated in several places and the pain is unbareable, I have seen 2 doctors already and they told me there was nothing they could do to help me, I am taking the strongest medication there is for this problem, but it don't help. The pain is so bad that I sometimes just cry, I can't stand it. I tried to sign up for disability, but they told me they are working on it and that have been 8 months ago.
I'm not looking for a handout, I had a very good job, but I just can't do it anymore. I cant stand, sit, lay down or walk for a long period of time.
There have been several times that I started to take an overdose so all the pain would end. Do anybody out there know of any doctor that can help or attempt to help get rid of this pain.

I feel your pain I have degenerative disc disease too and I curently take morphine but it acts just like tylonol to me . and as for disability I guess I didnt qualify bcuz I am too young ? email me if you want to talk ...Pepsi

I am so sorry that you are in great pain. Its so difficult to explain to other people how badly it can hurt. You have my utmost sympathy . Keep after the disability benefits people. Were you injured on a job site if so there is Workman's comp. Social Security will send someone to your home ,or take a claim on line or over the phone if you cant get to their offices.
I don't know what to tell you about managing your pain,go to a different doctor if the one you have isn't helping you with pain management,bio feed back can also help some people. My heart goes out to anyone facing pain everyday,my mother died of cancer of the spine and we had to demand that the hospital give her more drugs to stop her horrible pain.
I hope they can find a way to lessen your pain...
