can you get ink poisoning by giving yourslef a small homemade tatoo with pen ink?

Question: this is making me a little uneasy. I guess I should have thought this through but the tatoo is the size of a penny.

Not usually. What does happen is that an infection starts where the tattoo is. Since the ink covers the infection your skin and underlying tissue starts to rot, then it enters your blood stream and causes sepsis. If you haven't already, take out a life insurance policy, Genius.
