high blood pressure?

Question:
I have had high blood pressure for years. I had a high pressure job I worked in a prison. I retired last year I started to feel tired and I noticed my blood pressure was very low. So on my own I cut my medication in half and now my pressure was 103-68 I am afriad to stop my medication what would be the cause of it to drop

Answers:
Please see your doctor immediately. Because of uncontrolled blood pressure, I had to go on dialysis for 4 years. Dialysis is very hard on the body. Thanks to my brother, I had perfect transplant surgery and am doing fine. PLEASE take care of yourself!

Other Answers:
103/68 is a good blood pressure - it does sound on the low side, but if you are not having any troubles with it, it sounds fine (many people go about with a blood pressure that low, or even lower).

You will know if it is troubling you because you may notice dizzy spells, particularly moving from lying down to an upright position.

If you need to reduce your blood pressure medication more, you should see your doctor and have it supervised.
You should immediately change your diet. And increase exercise. Drink plenty of water, and take a vitamin every morning. Avoid a lot of salt intake. That can sky rocket your blood pressure. You don't want that. If you are on blood pressure medication I advice you to take it everyday. DON'T SKIP DAYS! That's not good! Good luck. This advice should help you.
A blood pressure level that is borderline low for one person may be normal for another. The most important factor is how the blood pressure changes from the normal condition. Most normal blood pressures fall in the range of 90/60 mm Hg to 130/80 mm Hg, but a significant change, even as little as 20 mm Hg, can cause problems for some people.
Please consult your doctor on a regular basis in order to avoid complications in future.
