Question:
does the hair material contain DNA i belive that so many tests can be performed on hair (as with detecting crimes) to identifie the hair owner but does any test has to do with DNA??

Answers:

the part of the hair that contains the DNA is the hair root (the white bit on the end). if the hair strand does not have that attached then no dna. u b good now ya hear.

Other Answers:
Yes.in some cases, (murder investigations, etc.,) if they find a hair sample, they will ask suspects for one to match it up using DNA.

The roots of hair may can have DNA, the shaft(strand) does not, it's just protein.

Yes, watch CSI. what do u think they're looking for? finger prints??! Anything that grows from your body contain's DNA. your hair does contain dna strands, anything from your body will carry dna trace that can be used to indentify yourself

Sure, hair contain DNA.

The hair follicle at the base of human hairs contains cellular material rich in DNA. In order to be used for DNA analysis, the hair must have been pulled from the body -- hairs that have been broken off do not contain DNA.

they all have to do with DNA. that's what they use to test.
there's a lot of information about you in your hair. for example if you've done drugs at any time and haven't cut your hair yet they can tell what drugs you did and how long ago.

Yes, the root. Anything, hair, sweat, skin. Oh,wait. Of course skin! Yes, hair does contain DNA.

NO the hair does not contain DNA, the (hair folical does.)

if a hair falls out the follical is still in your head, but if you pull a hair out you will see the tiny white end on it. That is the follical and that has DNA.
