My mother in law was biten by a stray cat. what can you advise.

Rabies is a viral infection contacted from dogs mostly.But cats and vampire bats also can transmit the infection..Rabies is always FATAL.Though your mom in law is least kikely to contact Rabies Err on the safe side.Get her immunised.Dont take any chances.

no wont have rabies but you need to go to hospital and have i think it would be a tetanus injection,stops any infection and cats have a massive amount of infections in there mouths.
Stray cats can have rabies just like any other stray/wild animal. I suggest catching the cat if you can and have it tested. If not, your mother-in-law should see a doctor and get a shot just in case. Better safe than sorry when it comes to health! Good luck!
