My Grandson who is 2 1/2 years old has a small cyst like knot on the back of his neck.?

Question:

Mom is taking him to the Dr. but I was wondering if anyone had any idea what this might be. A new one is forming above the original one. It is pretty big and has me worried.

I don't have an answer for you. However, my 3 1/2 year old son got the very same thing yesterday. I notice when I massage it it gets larger and it does change shape somewhat. I think it may just be a knot in his muscle from what I have been reading on it. Please let me know what the doctor says about your grandson. I am very curious! Thanks,
