Does anyone know information about QEEG test?

Question:
My child has been previously diagnosed with Epilepsy, ADHD, and High-Functioning Autism. I took him to a new pediatrician today who set up an appointment for a QEEG which I know is kind of like an EEG but gives more information. I pulled up info. on the web about QEEG test and read that the results of a patient with ADHD differ from the results of a patient with Autism. I am wondering then how the results will be if he has both ADHD and Autism? Also is it common for a person to have both ADHD and Autism? I've sometimes wondered if he was misdiagnosed. What will the results of the QEEG give the doctor? Will the doctor be able from those results to say for sure if my son has both ADHD and Autism?

Answers:
You may be right in your assumption that autism and ADHD may have been erroneously diagnosed to be co-existent. Certain features of autism may otherwise be manifested when a child is receiving medications for epilepsy and ADHD. But it shall not suffice for a child to be labeled as autistic, in addition to his having ADHD. However, exceptions are known to occur and it may be an exception. Maybe you should seek a second opinion to put your worries to rest.
