Ear Ache Help?

Question: I couldn't get a doctor appt. until tomorrow, but in the mean time I have an ear ache that I have been treating with Advil for the pain. Do you have any home remedies that I can try until I get to see the doctor tomorrow? I has been hard to sleep the last two nights.

I wouldnt recommend anything. It is best you go to the doctor. Ear infections are to be taken seriously. My friend suffered from one for several months so I know.

Be patient. Dont try anything. I know its painful, but bite your lips and be patient. :) Good luck with the doc!

Take some cooking oil and warm it, try it on your wrist first to make sure its not too hot...put a little warm oil in your ear.....

Ear pain can be caused by many factors. Usually because of an infection, or even wax or debris build-up. there is one thing you can do to help if it is debris- and can't hurt- like trying a 50-50 mixture of hydrogen peroxide and warm water to rinse the ear canal out. Use warm water to avoid getting dizzy. This should help dislodge any debris that could be causing a problem. But it sounds like you have an infection and in that case only ear drops can fix that. Go to the ER if you are hurting bad, you can get hearing damage if you don't get an infection looked at in a timely manner.

OK, this is going to sound insane, but I swear it works,my mother used to do it to me, and it worked every time. Get someone to put about a teaspoon of ice cold water in your ear that hurts. Just lay there for a minute and it works! Of course, the initial shock makes you want to jump out of your skin.
