If your eye is poked out, can an average person get it back in without major repercussions?

Question:
Sounds sick, but I've heard of it happening and wondered if it were true. Plus my 6 year old asked me and I didn't know the answer.

Answers:
Remember the basketball player who several months ago basically had his eye "poked out"? Technically, an eye can be "poked out" and if put back in place quickly enough (without damage to the optic nerve) it would be ok. Supposedly this does happen from time to time and we are told if it happens to one of our patients to "put it back in, any way we can".

Other Answers:
Now, really moron. What do you THINK? Have you tried, thinking?!
No. You'd need immediate medical attention and would probably have sight issues, possibly other medical issues.
NO, Your optical nerve would be damaged, there are also blood vessels attached, l'm not an expert but think about it.
