Is it true that taking a shower before you go to a public place such as a hospital...?

Question:
...will make you more prone to catching a disease as when you shower it opens up your pores?

Answers:
I've never heard of this myth before, but there doesn't seem to be any scientific way for it to be true. We don't get diseases from our pores. You get illnesses mainly through your nose, eyes, and mouth. If you touch a doorknob with cold viruses on it, for example, then touch your nose or eyes a little while later, you will likely get a cold. We do not 'absorb' illnesses through our skin.
