For how long can frozen meat be considered safe?
Question:
Answers:
Hi-
Assuming that the meat was frozen while still fresh, it is "safe" indeffinitely. The problem is that over time, the moisture in the meat sublimates, or leeches out of the meat to form big ice crystals on the surface of the meat.
Often times, this is called Freezer Burn and can be seen as a light area or spot on the meat. When you cook this meat, it won't make you sick, but it will be pretty nasty tasting in those spots that suffered worst.

Six months is the max you should keep frozen meat. I work in a supermarket, this is what my meat manager tells me.
till the time it is kept frozen. For abut a year without freezer burn.
No longer than 3 months.
depends on your freezer temp. but generally about a year is considered the maximum time meat should remain in a home freezer
It all depends on how well the meat, was wrapped, prior to freezing, and how fast and at what temperature the meat was frozen, and stored.
Scientists have actually eaten Woolly Mammoth Meat, that became frozen, approximately 12,000 years ago. because it froze so rapidly and at such a low temperature, the meat was completely edible.
Don't eat meat, frozen or not, your body will appreciate it.
I never eat anything that ever had a face. That's a rule that I live by.
