is ipecac (vomiting juice for short) illegal? sum say it is and sum say otherwise so does any1 know for sure?

Question: is syrup of ipecac illegal? my home and career teacher says it's not but my mother says it is? someone tell me if it is or isn't please!!!

Ipecac is not illegal, although inducing vomiting is no longer recommended for most ingested toxins as the toxins not only burn the linings of the mouth, throat and stomach when it was ingested; it will again damage these same body parts when the solution is vomited.
