why wont scissors cut when used with my left hand?

Question:
Im a right handed person, when I use scissors to cut my nails with my right hand everything is great, but when I try to cut using the same scissors with my left hand, the scissors dont want to cut.

Answers:
the blades are chamfered with a bevelled edge left to right so that the cutting motion would just crease a piece of paper. you can get left handed scissors though with the bevel the other way.

Other Answers:
Same with me too. dont know how to stop it though.
because you are holding the scissors upside down
perhaps you need to invest in some left handed scissors!
because my dear u got a right handed scissors
Because when you try to cut with the left hand you force the blades apart thats y they won't cut.

Try pulling your thumb in towards you then they will work! or just use your right hand or buy left handed scissors!
It has to do with the angle of the blades. You would have to use scissors for the left hand that have the blades positioned correctly. The nails should be cut with proper nail clippers or filed
Because you are not a lefty(left handed person). It is not only scissors you don't write very well with you left all because you are not lefty
The muscles in that hand are not developed... that's all.
I'm a left hander, and I was taught to use scissors right-handed at a young age, so I'm fine with that.

But it's really interesting that whatever forces I apply to the scissors at whatever angles when I cut, i can't cut properly with my left hand. Depending on where you are (there's a left-handed shop in soho, london), you should be able to get left-handed scissors.

yeah i know weird isnt it!
they are designed for right handed use. the blades work against each other right handed but pull apart left handed. get left handed ones as well.
i use nail clippers much easier
its to do with the way you hold them it aint easy as you are right handed.
